FAQs on campus/building/office protocols
If you have items that require FedEx shipping, please email the following information to the sswinfocenter@vcu.edu email:
- Receiver's name and address
- Type of package (FedEx envelope, own packaging)
**If you're using your own packaging, you must provide the package dimensions (H x L x W)
- Approximate weight (**Note, the school does not have a scale, so best guesstimate here)
- Shipping Method (Overnight, Express 2-Day, Express, Ground)
- Your index code for the shipping charges
- Brief identification of items shipped and business purpose
Once the front desk receives this information, they will print a shipping label and notify you that it is ready to affix to the package. Please do not bring your package to the front desk before this time unless you have pre-coordinated with the front desk personnel.
Please note the front desk will not create a label until all of the above information is received.
We can ask FedEx to pick up the package at the office; however, this doesn't always work out due to the courier’s availability and schedule. Currently, FedEx tends to deliver and pick up after the front office closes at 5 p.m. Therefore, it is highly recommended you deliver your pre-labeled package to a FedEx Office location for shipping; the front desk personnel will not do this for you.
You can view FedEx Office drop-off locations. You do not need to pay at the time of drop-off as long as you have a shipping label created by the front desk on your package. You should accept a receipt of drop-off at the FedEx location for tracking and record-keeping purposes.
VCU departments or outside agencies can request parking validations (QR codes) for visitor parking locations by contacting the special events team via email at prkgevent@vcu.edu.
